There's 0 meathead vibe, and every person that steps through those doors is incredibly supportive. The coaches here are well versed in training anyone from someone who has never even lifted a barbell to those who have been competing for years. The community is incredibly welcoming to all people and is a very safe place for LGBTQIA+. This place has been a game changer for me. When I first stepped in, my back was giving me grief every time I tried to do anything remotely physical. Walking, housework—you name it, it hurt. But thanks to the awesome coaches, I'm practically a new person. They've got a keen eye for detail and really helped me get my form right. As the coaches say, "it's okay if you don't get things right the first time, there's no manual for learning how to use your body." Except there kinda is, because they teach you how, slowly but surely! I never knew learning how to use my body properly could make such a difference. Now? My back pain? Pretty much gone. I also gotta mention the vibe here. It's not your typical gym scene where everyone's in their own little world. It's more like a hangout. Working out feels less like punishment and more like a social thing I actually enjoy. In just a few weeks, I've gone from feeling weak and wobbly to feeling super excited about what my body is capable of. I'm lifting, I'm carrying, I'm doing all the things I never thought I could. Plus, I've picked up some cool insights about how my body works along the way. Seriously, if you're even thinking about joining Cedar Street, stop thinking and just do it.
